General Description
The Lead Security Monitor is responsible for overseeing all security monitoring operations within an ORR funded UAC shelter to ensure the continuous safety, supervision, and protection of children, staff and visitors in compliance with ORR Policy, the cooperative agreement, state licensing requirements and agency policy. This role provides direct supervision and leadership to Security Monitors, ensues proper operation and documentation of surveillance systems, maintains line-of sight and accountability standards, and serves as a key operational contact during incidents, emergencies and audits.
The Lead Security Monitor will also assist the Direct Care Staff in ratio as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Providedirect supervision, coaching, and oversight toSecurity Monitors across all shifts.
- Services as a lead responder for security-related incidents, disturbances, or emergencies.
- Assign posts,monitorstaffing coverage,and ensure 24/7 security monitoring coverage per ORR requirements.
- Ensure staff follow all ORR policies, shelterproceduresand safety protocols.
- Conduct shift briefings and debriefings to communicate expectations, incidents, and operational updates.
- Mayparticipatein hiring, training, performance monitoring,and corrective actions for security monitor staff.
- Oversee continuous monitoring of all camerasystems,alarms, and security technology.
- Ensure all surveillance systems are operational,recorded at all times, and properly time/date stamped.
- Immediately report, document, and escalate any systems outages, blindspotsor malfunctions.
- Ensures access control protocols are followedbystaff, visitors,contractorsand vendors.
- Maintainaccuratedaily security logs, incident reports, and monitoring documentation.
- Ensure incident reports are completed accurately andsubmittedwithin required ORRtimeframes.
- Support Direct Care Staff during transitions, movement, emergencies, and staffing shortage as needed whilemaintainingsupervision oversight.
- Ensure children are supervised at all times,and that line-of-sight supervision standards are maintained.
- Monitor for andimmediatelyreport any behavior, conditions, or incident that could threaten child safety orwelfare.
- Ensure compliance with ORR standards related to child protection, prohibited conduct, incident reporting,and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Participate in emergency drills, safety meetings, and corrective action planning.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Evacuates site with short notice in case of an emergency
- Must be able to assist in evacuation due to severe weatherthreats(i.e., hurricanes, flooding.)
- Adheres to Urban Strategies, ORR and State regulations, policies and procedures.
- Performs duties in a safe manner.
