About the Role

HVAC Mechanic – University Campus

Join our campus community and play a vital role in creating a comfortable, safe, and high-performing environment for students, faculty, and staff. As an HVAC Mechanic, you will bring your expertise to support the operation and maintenance of our commercial campus HVAC systems—ensuring our classrooms, residence halls, and facilities remain welcoming spaces for living, learning, and working.

Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems across campus buildings. Your work will directly contribute to the daily experience of our university community.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate and maintain HVAC systems throughout campus facilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance to optimize system performance and efficiency
  • Help ensure a comfortable and safe environment in academic, residential, and administrative spaces

Education:

•    Associate's degree/Vocational Diploma in HVAC Technology from an industry leader such as Trane, Carrier, York (minimum 500 hours) 

Experience:

•    Related experience and/or training in a mechanical or electrical trade. 

•    A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance and related equipment

•    Experience in chiller maintenance to 500-ton units (screw, centrifugal, and reciprocating types) preferred. 

Licenses/Certifications:

•    A current and valid PA driver’s license.

•    Universal EPA Refrigerant Handling certification. This license number may be used for purchasing refrigerant on behalf of the University for on campus equipment.
