About the Role

Team Lead – Certified Medical Assistant

Reports To: Practice Administrator, Berry Health Center

Position Summary

The Team Lead – Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supports the daily clinical operations of the Berry Health Center. This position performs all duties of a Certified Medical Assistant while providing leadership, guidance, and training to the clinical team. The Team Lead ensures quality standards, safety compliance, and a positive patient experience while supporting the mission, vision, and values of Premier Physician Network.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Training

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities of a Certified Medical Assistant at a satisfactory or above level.
  • Serves as a preceptor for all clinical employees:
    • Ensures new clinical staff are properly trained in office procedures.
    • Implements and trains clinical staff on new or updated processes (including Epic workflows, clinical, and administrative duties).
    • Conducts clinical skill assessments for all clinical team members.
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude, consistently promoting the Premier Physician Network and modeling Premier Health Behavioral Standards and Commitment to Co-Workers.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for clinical staff and for all employees when the Practice Administrator is offsite. Communicates issues or escalates questions to the covering manager or the Director when the Practice Administrator is offsite.

Quality and Patient Care

  • Completes five (5) AIDET audits per week, providing real-time feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Assists with scheduling patients who need appointments to address Women’s Health, health maintenance and preventive care needs.
  • Helps maintain high standards of quality and compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
    • Conducts audits, monitors and reviews documentation, and supports quality improvement initiatives.
    • Ensures adherence to infection control protocols and clinical best practices.

Equipment, Supplies, and Safety

  • Ensures all Point-of-Care (POC) equipment protocols and workflows are followed, including:
    • Autoclave
    • Trophon
    • All Ultrasound units
    • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
    • All EKG machines
  • Serves as the primary contact for Bio-Med and Maanger, coordinating annual equipment checks and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Vaccine Management:
    • Audits vaccine supplies according to the practice’s established schedule.
    • Discards expired vaccines per protocol and ensures proper documentation.
  • Inventory and Equipment Management:
    • Maintains and orders medical supplies, monitors inventory levels, and ensures all clinical equipment is functioning properly.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Serves as the Safety Officer for the Berry Health Center, ensuring a safe and compliant clinical environment.
    • Monitors and maintains all data loggers associated with medication refrigerators to ensure temperature and storage compliance.
