About the Role

Description

Looking for a hands-on, active job where no two days are the same? Join our Seasonal Set-Up Crew and be part of the team that brings events to life! This role is perfect for someone who enjoys physical work, working outdoors, and contributing behind the scenes to successful events in a unique, historic setting.


As a Set-Up Crew Member, you’ll prepare event spaces, assist with equipment and logistics, and help maintain our garden and event space facilities. Training is provided, and teamwork is essential. This position will report to the Setup Supervisor. The hourly wage is $15.00 per hour.


What You’ll Do

Event & Facility Support

  • Set up and break down event spaces according to event schedules and setup plans
  • Assist with room transformations, including the safe handling of antiques and historic furnishings (as applicable)
  • Ensure event areas are safe, organized, and ready for use

Equipment & Operations

  • Move, transport, and store equipment safely and efficiently
  • Set up and check power sources, including spider boxes, temporary panels, or generators
  • Report any damages, safety concerns, or equipment issues promptly

General Support

  • Assist with janitorial and cleaning duties as needed
  • Support courier duties between on-site and off-site storage locations
  • Follow all safety, security, and operational procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physical work in indoor and outdoor environments
  • Comfortable lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, stooping, walking long distances, and climbing ladders
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and extended hours as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Team-oriented with a positive, reliable work ethic
  • Good verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with safe use of tools, generators, heaters, fans, and similar equipment
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices and proper use of protective gear
  • Experience cleaning and maintaining equipment

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license (required to operate garden vehicles)
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Must pass pre-employment screening, including background check, drug test, and physical exam
