Position Summary
Boulder City Hospital is seeking a dependable and motivated Environmental Services Supervisor to oversee and direct the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services Department. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff throughout the hospital campus.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in a healthcare setting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily Environmental Services operations and staff
- Ensure hospital cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently maintained
- Conduct routine inspections of patient rooms, offices, common areas, and facility spaces
- Train, mentor, and evaluate Environmental Services team members
- Develop staff schedules and assign daily tasks
- Monitor inventory levels and order cleaning supplies and equipment as needed
- Ensure proper handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Respond promptly to department and facility-related environmental concerns
- Maintain compliance with hospital safety procedures, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines
- Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
- Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and equipment
- Reach with hands and arms
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous Environmental Services or housekeeping experience preferred
- Supervisory experience in healthcare or hospitality strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of sanitation standards, infection prevention, and workplace safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable attendance and professionalism required
