Job Description

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you’ll be part of a small, friendly team where you’ll be encouraged to use your own initiative and develop your skills.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is flexible in supporting ad-hoc duties when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase invoices and matching them to purchase orders from depots
  • Supporting weekly and month-end BACS payment runs
  • Completing supplier statement reconciliations
  • Handling supplier queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Generating weekly invoices and associated reports
  • Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks

Qualifications

  • Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills
  • GCSE Maths Grade B minimum
  • PC literate in Word and Outlook. Must have extensive experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be capable of working well under pressure
  • Good time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements
  • Be willing to take responsibility and accountability
  • Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year
  • Have experience of working alone and as part of a team
  • Highly motivated to achieve and progress
  • Knowledge of warehousing software systems would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
