AGENCY OVERVIEW:

L’Chaim Adult Day Health Center is a licensed facility and outpatient center that provides medical, social, and therapy services for Russian-speaking older adults and individuals with disabilities. We have been a haven of person-centered care and community support for thousands of emigre clients from San Francisco and San Mateo for over 25 years.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor II, the Program Aide is responsible for providing personal care, assistance with activities, and meal service support to program participants. The Program Aide supports safe kitchen operations, food service documentation, and compliance with applicable regulations, including Title 22 CCR, CDPH food safety standards, and CACFP requirements. The Program Aide performs all duties in accordance with agency policies, health and safety standards, and person-centered care practices.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Pay Range: $23.50/hr (depending on experience)
- Schedule: 32 hrs (4 days) /week
- Employment Type: full-time, non-exempt position with benefits

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, monitors participants’ vital signs and weigh; Monitors and reports bowel, bladder, and other physical concerns to the Registered Nurse
- Provides personal care to participants, including assistance with toileting, transferring, hygiene, and dressing, under nursing supervision
- Assists participants to and from transportation vehicles
- Assists with and participates in therapeutic and social activities; Implements Physical or Occupational Therapy maintenance programs under therapist supervision
- Distributes meals and snacks to participants in accordance with posted menus and diet orders; Assists participants with eating, including cutting food as required
- Labels, stores, and manages food items in accordance with California food safety regulations and agency procedures
- Maintains required food service documentation, including daily temperature logs, meal counts, and related CACFP records
- Performs light maintenance and housekeeping duties related to participant and food service areas; Maintains cleanliness of the main room, nursing area, bathrooms, and kitchen areas
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Russian language conversational skills preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with participants, families, caregivers, and staff
- High school diploma or equivalent; aptitude for working with older adults
- Experience in adult day health care or similar setting preferred
- California Home Health Aide certificate a plus
- Ability to meet health screening requirements, including TB clearance in accordance with Title 22
