We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring our bakery operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art bakery equipment while contributing to the production of premium artisan sourdough products that delight customers nationwide.


Key Responsibilities


Equipment Management & Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex bakery equipment, including both mechanical and electrical systems
  • Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance programs on all production equipment
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance based on work orders and established PM schedules
  • Monitor machinery performance to minimize unplanned downtime and maximize operational efficiency

Technical Expertise

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with 3-phase power systems and motor control circuits
  • Troubleshoot and repair sophisticated electrical and mechanical systems
  • Anticipate potential problems and implement proactive solutions in a timely manner
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for equipment improvements and operational enhancements

Inventory & Communication

  • Track and communicate parts inventory needs based on usage patterns to the Plant Engineer
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Collaborate effectively with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities

Safety & Compliance

  • Strictly adhere to company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety protocols
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas before shift completion
  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a culture of workplace safety

Additional Duties

  • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians as needed

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma from an accredited trade school in a related technical field
  • Three years of hands-on experience in maintenance of industrial or food manufacturing equipment
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and practical experience
  • Essential: Strong troubleshooting and repair capabilities for electrical and mechanical systems
  • Highly Preferred: Electrical experience with industrial systems
  • Preferred: Prior experience with bakery processing equipment, ovens, and food production machinery
  • Demonstrated ability to work with 3-phase electrical systems and motor controls
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work weekend days and occasional holidays based on operational needs
  • Reliability: Strong attendance record and commitment to meeting scheduled work requirements

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

  • In this position there is a lot of walking, standing and bending.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • There is exposure to extreme temperatures (cold and hot).
  • There is exposure to dust and food allergens.
  • Personal protective Equipment is available upon request but is not required for this position.
  • Lifting 50 pounds frequently. All Lifts over 50 Pounds require assisted lifting
  • All machines are equipped with Protective guards. All safety protocols must be followed.
  • Maintain regular, consistent attendance & punctuality. Must have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
