We are seeking a highly skilled Process Reliability Specialist to support the performance, reliability, and quality of anode, cathode and separator cutting operations within the Cell Equipment Technology team.
Responsibilities:
- Be a hands-on person in assembling the cutter modules as per the design specifications without any errors
- Support optimal performance of cutter modules to meet cutting quality and reliability targets
- Resolve recurring issues on the product related to cutter module as identified by the automated vision systems that identifies defects such as: edge quality, burrs, misalignment, material jamming and overall structural integrity of the cutting system
- Verify, modify and build CTQ parameters and tolerances using inspection tools like Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, portable CMM etc.
- Maintain detailed history of cutter module usage with measurable parameters and proof to aid in root cause analysis
- Constantly analyze cutter module inventory based on the production plan, average replacement time and spare part lead time
- Provide expertise on precision assembly and alignment of cutter components based on lessons learned from production issues
- Interpret 2D, 3D, assembly mechanical drawings and specifications to support accurate setup and functionality
- Design and develop assembly jigs for guide master to improve the accuracy and repeatability of the cutter module assembly
- Deep understanding in evaluating fits and clearances, alignment conditions and wear patterns affecting performance
- Develop measurement-based inspection criteria to evaluate the assembly quality of the cutter modules and drive consistency in the entire process
- Support structured root cause analysis using 8D methodology for recurring mechanical and process quality issues
- Ability to adjust machine parameters to stabilize the quality after major mechanical component replacement
- Help reduce repeat failures through improved understanding and documentation. Analyze cutter module usage trends and improve the MTBR (Mean Time Between Replacement)
- Develop standard work procedures for cutter module setup and assembly
- Provide 100% on-floor support and knowledge sharing to technicians
- Act as a subject matter expert during 4M test runs related to cutting parameter adjustments
- Participate in global LG site lesson learned meetings in regard to cutter module improvements and apply the changes proactively

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 3+ years of mechanical engineering related experience.
- Knowledge of guide master, bearing and fastener selection to optimize cutter module performance.
- Experience in using 3D scanners to reverse engineer components.
- Experience in programming and using electric nut runners.
- Proficient in MS Office suite with intermediate to advanced excel sheet skills using macros.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work well with cross functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering related field.
