The Public is seeking Logistics Technicians to join our Logistics Team for the Mobile Unit! The Public’s Logistics Team operates all the vehicles and movement of equipment on the Mobile tour. This includes operating 2- 16 ft trucks, and sprinter vans.
The Logistics Technicians are responsible for the safe transport and execution of each tour venue from unloading of gear, management of vehicles, and helping keep the tour running in conjunction with Production Management and Technical Direction.
Applicants from populations underrepresented in the theater field are strongly encouraged to apply. This is an overhire position and will be from June 2nd through June 30th. Logistics Technicians are paid $28.09 per hour for the tour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Public Theater’s 16’ truck.
- Execute the tour schedule autonomously and escalate any issues to the Lead Logistics Technician.
- Ensure all vehicle operations are completed safely, including truck packing, driving, and movement of materials.
- Lead and direct crews in loading and unloading the truck.
- Represent The Public Theater values while navigating around NYC.
- Utilize the Public Theater communication channels (Radio and Slack).
- Make sure all gear is properly charged and ready for tour on a daily basis.
- Troubleshoot any radio issues while on tour.
Skills, Experiences and Qualifications:
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Valid Driver’s License and experience driving large vehicles in NYC.
- Understanding of production operations and equipment.
- Willing to submit to driver motor vehicle record check.
- Mindfulness for Safety and Attention to Communication, ensuring that information is passed on to others who should be kept informed.
- Willing to use your personal phone with an internet-enabled phone plan.
- Willing to submit to a DOT-required physical exam
- Punctuality and Reliability a must!
