Full-time (37.5 hours/week) | Non-Exempt

 The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is hiring a Warehouse Driver to deliver food throughout our six county service area.


Drivers support local agencies and programs and help ensure food reaches neighbors facing food insecurity. Our drivers are trusted frontline team members, doing hands on, physical work in a fast paced environment where reliability, accuracy, and teamwork matter.

What You’ll Do

• Stage, organize, and prepare outbound orders using invoices and delivery schedules. 

• Load, secure, and unload food using forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment. 

• Complete pre trip and post trip inspections, delivery paperwork, mileage logs, and temperature logs. 

• Pick up donated food from local donors and deliver to the warehouse or partner locations. 

• Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation standards at every stop. 

• Build positive relationships with donors, vendors, and agency and program partners while representing the Food Bank professionally.


Who You Are

• A safe, responsible driver with a valid CDL Class A license and clean driving record. 

• Comfortable with hands on, physical work, including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. 

• Experienced in warehouse, delivery, or distribution work and confident working in a fast paced, high volume environment. 

• Detail oriented and takes responsibility for making sure deliveries and paperwork are accurate. 

• Committed to food safety, quality, and doing the job the right way. 

• A dependable team player who shows up on time, communicates clearly, and is ready to pitch in when needed. 

• Professional, respectful, and understands that drivers are frontline representatives of the Food Bank in the community.

Requirements

Qualifications 

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Minimum one (1) year of experience in warehouse operations, delivery driving, or product distribution required.

• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record required.

• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.

• ServSafe certification required or willingness to obtain within 180 days of hire.

• Ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and required drug and alcohol screenings.

• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Basic math skills required, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and standard units of measure.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high volume, team oriented environment with limited downtime.
