About the Role

Description

The Analyst 2 performs advanced data processing and analysis, working with complex datasets that require detailed review, validation, and correction. This role involves identifying discrepancies, conducting research, and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve data issues and ensure accuracy. Analyst 2 staff are often assigned the most challenging workloads and are expected to maintain high levels of productivity and precision. In addition, they support team development by mentoring junior analysts and contributing to training efforts. This position plays a key role in maintaining data quality and supporting the overall success of the operation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly and quarterly employment and wage data.
  • Researches and corresponds with survey respondents on data issues as needed.
  • Formats and imports data files into approved software applications and databases.
  • Follows approved procedures for data analysis, editing and coding.
  • Meets designated data production requirements.
  • Maintains standards for data quality.
  • Researches and writes correspondence in reply to state workforce agency data related questions.
  • Performs mentoring of new and junior staff.
  • Completes all assigned ancillary tasks.
  • Provides complete and timely information via notes and email on problem cases and solutions.
  • Assignments are comprised of the most difficult firms/files provided to the contractor by the government.
  • Imports files into databases and transmits processed confidential data to remote computer systems using approved data transfer software.
  • May be responsible for training new employees as assigned, using government provided training material.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of relevant experience in a similar information processing environment.
  • Successfully completed a minimum of two years as Analyst 1 and consistently demonstrates an expert application of skills.
  • Two years’ experience using Microsoft Office tools --Must be proficient in the use of MS Excel.
  • Two years’ experience using the internet for research.
  • Possess basic math skills required to analyze and edit monthly and quarterly data in accordance with established standards.
  • Expected to acquire additional technical and PC skills.


Work Location:

  • On-site in Chicago, IL (telework eligible after completion of training and demonstration of consistent performance).
  • Candidates must be able to work on-site as needed to support training, collaboration, and operational requirements.
