Description

Provides safety and protection of guests, employees, and property by anticipating problems and reacting to disturbances and prohibited conduct, maintains law and order and enforcement of casino policies and procedures. Trains and coaches employees. Promotes “Customer Service Expectations”. Informs guests of special promotions. Answers questions from and provides directions to guests. Staff Supervisor – Ensures that all on-duty Security Officer’s duties and reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner. Responsible for the performance and conduct of all on-duty Security Officers. As a “Team Leader” is expected to “set the example” by being pro-active in public relations and maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees.

Requirements

  • Supervises the general security and protection of the company’s customers, employees, and property.
  • Reviews the work activities of subordinate employees to ensure that work is being performed to the standards established by management and resolves work related problems within the Security Department.
  • Trains and coaches employees assigned in the work operations and procedures of the Security Department.
  • Mediates and resolves questionable incidents involving customers and/or employees.
  • Monitors observance of safety practices and potential safety hazards.
  • Investigates and files reports on incidents and disturbances.
  • Ensures and provides CPR and/or other medical assistance when necessary.
  • Coordinates activities with law enforcement agencies.
  • Furnishes escorts to guests and employees when requested.
  • Maintains awareness of known and potential cheaters; properly alerts the Casino Shift Manager of potential trespass.
  • Maintains knowledge of up to date cheating methods and scams.
  • Prepares and submits to the Security Director daily and weekly reports required by the company, State Gaming Commission, and law enforcement agencies.
  • Carries out supervisor responsibilities in a timely, fair, and objective manner.
  • Responds to and provides direction of Security staff and other employees in the event of fire, bomb threat or other emergency.
  • Maintains the general “up-keep” of the Security office, including all supplies, blank report forms, cameras, film, radios, portable lights, etc.
  • Responsible for the timely changing of surveillance video tapes when necessary.
  • Timely and accurate completion and maintenance of all security related reports and logs, i.e. incident reports, guest and employee accident/injury reports, parking lot reports, head count logs, and lost and found logs.
  • Briefing all officers and the on-coming supervisor of all incidents that have occurred during the shift and any potential problems, bolo’s, management memos, new casino promotions, etc.
  • Administering discipline, completing Disciplinary Action forms when necessary.
  • Assignment of security officers to specific tasks, i.e. parking lot patrol, escorts, slot and pit drop, etc.
  • Review of security reports and logs for accuracy and completion.
  • Determining the need for calling or requesting a call for Sparks Police Department, REMSA, Sparks Fire Dept., etc.
  • Supervises all arrests and only then, after consulting with and obtaining a consent of the Casino Shift Manager, when possible.
  • Supervises the imposition of 86’s and ejections and only then, after consulting with and obtaining the consent of the Casino Shift Manager, (exception: minors).
  • Keeping the chain of command – General Manager, Controller (Asst. GM), Director of Security, Casino Shift Manager, Department Managers and Supervisors, informed when necessary.
  • Daily maintenance of the Supervisor’s log.
